Community Volunteer – How to Volunteer

If you would like to be a community volunteer, please contact the parish clerk on COVID19@SouthStoke.org.uk

Community volunteers will complete contact cards and post them through the homes of their neighbours, offering to help during any times of isolation.

We have been advised by SODC it is essential to create a "hub" from which any help from outside of the parish can be distributed if and when it is made available.  As such, and because many of the residents who will be visited may be vulnerable individuals, all volunteers will need to provide proof of a recent (less than 2 years old) DBS check certificate, or be willing to complete the necessary checks to gain one.  Due to this, the postcards will only be distributed to volunteers registered with South Stoke Parish Council.

If you would like to become a volunteer and already have the necessary DBS check, please provide a copy of this and an ID picture to put on your volunteer ID Card to:
COVID19@SouthStoke.org.uk

To date, all of our volunteers use the social media platform, facebook, if you also use it please do join here.  If you don't, that is also fine.  As the group grows, we will need to explore other options, including a WhatsApp group message system, or e-mail distribution list.
